Student Schedules

  • Due to the need for enhanced cleaning protocols, we will have an abbreviated school day for the beginning of school. As conditions change, this will be re-evaluated. All students who are attending in person will be dismissed beginning at 1:00 PM daily

  • Students in each group will attend in person on alternate days in order to honor social distancing guidelines.

  • Students will be divided into two groups for in person attendance (groups will be determined by home address in order to accommodate families).

  • Due to the need for social distancing and the space limitations in the school buildings, students will attend in person on an alternating basis. Students will be divided into two groups and will attend in person according to the schedule below:

Students in Group A will attend in person on Monday and Tuesday.

Students in Group B will attend in person on Thursday and Friday.

All students will attend remotely on Wednesday.

  • Students will report to their homeroom and will remain in that room for the duration of the day.

  • As mentioned above, all students will be dismissed starting at 1:00 daily in order to accommodate the need for cleaning protocols and planning for instruction.

All students will continue to receive a comprehensive educational program.

  • Students will be assessed upon return to school and specific goals will be set for all students.

  • For students who are working remotely, a combination of synchronous and asynchronous learning will take place. This will include such strategies as live streaming lessons that are taking place with in-person students, pre-recording of lessons and activities, and assignment of tasks through the use of Google Classroom.

Shared Supplies

To the extent possible, instructional and personal materials will not be shared.

All students will be required to maintain their own personal supplies and district provided supplies will be separated into bins for each student.

Students with IEPs

Students with IEP’s who are attending in person will be temporarily assigned to a special education teacher for the time that they are in school. This will allow for greater contact time, diagnostic ability, and remediation of lost skills.

All other supports for students with disabilities will take place as practicable. For example, related services will be delivered virtually when social distancing is not possible.

Lunch

Meals

  • All meals will be delivered to individual classrooms daily. Students and staff will not utilize the cafeteria until further notice.

  • Desks and surfaces where students and staff eat will be disinfected prior to and after eating.

  • Students and staff will be required to sanitize or wash hands prior to and after eating.

Meal Continuity

  • Any student who is not attending school in person will be eligible to pick up bagged lunches after school hours, twice weekly. Enough meals will be distributed to cover the full school week.

  • On days when the entire school is working remotely, meals will be given to students on the last day of in person school prior to the closure.

Recess & Physical Education

Recess

  • Students will be given opportunities for outdoor activity on a class by class basis. Recess will be structured and directed by a staff member and all students will be required to practice social distancing.

  • Recess will be restricted to the use of open spaces only and will not involve the sharing of equipment or facilities.

  • All recess times will be scheduled by the building principal.

  • All students and staff will be required to wash and sanitize hands prior to and after the recess period.

Physical Education

Physical Education classes will be held in a virtual format and will include individual activities for students. The school gym facilities will be closed until further notice.
